Regenerating Trees On Ironbark Farm Australia

13th November 2024: since we came to this property, we have been building up the carbon profile across most of Ironbark Farm Aust to improving and regenerate many trees suffering and fading away through many years of neglect. Regularly, we go through the property picking up or chain sawing larger fallen limbs to take them to our stockpile area for future use. We then use the Razorback CMX2106 ride on mower to slash smaller tree limbs, leaves, bark, weeds, unrequired saplings, Lantana, Queen Anne's Lace, and many types of grasses around all the trees. The 20 or so slashings we have done amongst the trees since Nov 2022 is gradually building up the carbon profile and aiding in the recovery of many trees as you can see in these photos. As the bigger money rolls in the near future, we are bringing in a tree surgeon for identification and selection of many trees to be left alone, or to be pruned, or be marked for a) milling of timber for sheds, homes, etc; posts, poles, panels, sticks, beams, etc, b) for use inside swales, Hugelkultur, garden beds, orchards, etc, or for native habitats, c) for woodchip to continue building up the carbon profile, d) or for fence lines, e) or furniture. We will then bring in a team of arborists with a large wood chipping machine or two to take down all the trees that are dead, sick, or selected for the uses above. It is possible that we may also bring in many large truckloads of broken down humic materials to be spread out thickly over various parts of the land. Some of the photos are of recovering trees located inside the 1 acre yard where the house is located. They have been fed and mulched and many of them are showing great signs of recovery, producing more leaves and flowers.
