Sitchin's Errors
This is really the heart of the site. I catalogue, discuss, and illustrate the always agonizing, sometimes amazing, flaws in Sitchin's handling of the ancient languages, Old Testament, and Sumero-Mesopotamian tablets. To cut to the chase, as I've said on Coast to Coast AM several times, I'm convinced that Sitchin knows NONE of the languages he says he does. He makes mistakes a first semester student would (and a "C" student at that).

Here's where I post the (disappointingly small) list of responses to my discussion of Sitchin's teachings. I have simple rules for responders: (1) I will reproduce your entire email on my site along with my response - so readers will know you aren't misquoted, and because there's usually something in them that makes for good comedy; (2) I will ask you to do the same if you have a website, and will post a link to that location so readers will know you've been honest with your own readers - that you have the courage to post my responses instead of caricaturing them. Open Letter to Zecharia Sitchin
Pretty self explanatory - the letter that was prompted in part when Art Bell asked me in May of 2001 on his show to debate Sitchin. I said sure. Still no response from Sitchin. Again, no surprise.

My Tax Returns
No kidding - I decided to post these (names and SS #'s blacked out) last year since Sitchinites who call in and respond believe that I am (and this is my favorite quote so far) "leeching off this man's greatness." If you've read through the first two links above you'll know this is about as effective as the other side's arguments get. My returns are dated back to 2001, when my novel The Facade came out and I got on Coast to Coast. No, I'm not getting rich - no one does telling people the truth. Like I said, I have nothing to hide.

None of these are from ancient language types (there aren't many who choose a life of linguistic geekdom), but that's good. Sitchin invites criticism from a host of disciplines.

Academic Snobbery...
...ain't worth a light, Dr. Heiser. If you can't make a case on the evidence alone and must resort to bloviations such as "I'm a Ph.D. therefore I'm right" then you have already lost the argument. Did you ever hear of a chap called Socrates? He dealt with people like you 2,500 years ago. You need to do a bit of catch-up.
As for Sitchin, no matter what kind of nutcase he might be, the fact, if indeed it is a fact, that he is a nutcase does not in and of itself prove him wrong about anything.
It's clear from your admission that you have studied the Hebrew scriptures that you yourself are a bit of a nutcase. So what we have here is a case of two nutters going head to head. The only rational conclusion that can be drawn is that you are both wrong.
